I'm not 18 yet.  Can I still apply for adult education?
Unfortunately, no.  Students in the adult education program must be at least 18 years old before attending their first class.
 
I don't live in California.  Can I enroll in Butte Valley Adult Education?
Unfortunately, No.  All Butte Valley Adult Education participants must provide a valid California Address.
 
I'm still in high school, but I am older than 18.  Can I participate in adult education?
Unfortunately, no.  Students may not be enrolled in both high school and adult education.
 
Can I take English classes and Career and Technical Education classes at the same time?
Yes, BVAE classes are scheduled so that students have many choices to build a schedule.
 
My English is very poor.  How well do I need to speak English to learn how to weld?
Butte Valley Adult Education offers English classes for those who wish to improve their English fluency.  Translators are available in other classes to help learners understand what is being taught.
 
Does Butte Valley Adult Education offer classes to prepare me for the Citizenship test?
If a student is enrolled in an English Language Learning course, they are eligible to enroll in the US Citizenship preparation course.
 
I am a field worker, how will I have time for adult education classes after a long work day?
Many Butte Valley Adult Education classes are scheduled during the off season so that field workers may attend.  Teachers may also collaborate with students during a course to delay class start times so more may attend.
 
Will a high school transcript from another country count toward an adult education diploma?
Yes!  Foreign language transcripts are translated, and then evaluated to determine what units may be applied to the diploma program.  This can considerable shorten the time needed to qualify for a high school diploma.
